Job summary

Lone Star College-CyFair is seeking a part-time PT Grounds Worker to maintain campus exteriors and ensure a clean, presentable environment for students, faculty and staff. You will manage landscaping, irrigation systems and outdoor spaces, with guidance to contractors as needed.

Responsibilities include trimming landscapes, removing trash, operating grounds equipment, and assisting with moves or repairs. A valid Texas driver's license is required; high school diploma or GED is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 1 year of related grounds experience preferred.
• An Associate degree or higher may be considered in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain landscaping and grounds of one or multiple Lone Star College campus(s)
• Remove trash container bags inside courtyards and throughout campus grounds daily
• Maintain irrigation, ponds and water fountains; Diagnose and inspect sprinkler system timers, valves, wiring, piping and heads
• Provide direction to outside contractors performing ground services
• Assist with setup of furniture moves or office/classroom relocation; Assist electricians repairing outside elevated lights
• Repair minor ground equipment and schedule major equipment repairs with vendors
• Maintain or repair structures (i.e. greenhouses, fences or benches)
• Maintains interior plants in common areas by watering, fertilizing and routinely spraying insecticides
• Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned
