Job summary

Lone Star College-CyFair is seeking a Part-Time Grounds Worker to maintain campus exteriors at LSC-CyFair. The role involves landscaping, irrigation maintenance, and assisting with furniture moves and light electrical repairs on site.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience, plus a Texas driver’s license. The position offers part-time hours with outdoor work and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, and 1+ year of related work experience.
• Valid Texas driver\'s license and eligibility for insurance coverage.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical labor.

Responsibilities

• Maintain landscaping and grounds of one or multiple Lone Star College campus(s).
• Remove trash container bags inside court yards and throughout campus grounds daily.
• Maintain irrigation, ponds and water fountains; Diagnose and inspect sprinkler system timers, valves, wiring, piping and heads.
• Provide direction to outside contractors performing ground services.
• Assist with setup of furniture moves or office/classroom relocation; Assist electricians repairing outside elevated lights.
• Repair minor ground equipment and schedule major equipment repairs with vendors.
• Maintain or repair structures (i.e. greenhouses, fences or benches).
• Maintains interior plants in common areas by watering, fertilizing and routinely spraying insecticides.
