Job summary

Lone Star College is seeking a Grounds Technician II for its CyFair campus. The role involves maintaining landscapes, operating riding mowers and power tools, and performing irrigation system work with minimal supervision.

You will support scheduling, assign tasks to grounds staff, and collaborate on campus-wide projects. A physical role with outdoor duties, requiring a valid Texas driver’s license and prior grounds experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; experience preferred.
• Must be able to understand and follow directions, and perform physically demanding grounds tasks.
• Valid Texas driver's license required; ability to travel between campuses may be needed.
• Experience operating riding mowers and power landscaping tools is expected.
• Preferred certifications in irrigation or pest control are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of irrigation systems and related equipment.
• Mow, edge, fertilize, and maintain landscaped areas across campus(s).
• Spray insecticides and treat plants for diseases and pests as needed.
• Assist in scheduling and supervising grounds crew as required.
• Coordinate with external contractors and ensure SOPs are followed across units.
