Job summary

Joliet Junior College is seeking a Part-time Building Service Worker to help maintain clean, safe campus environments across classrooms, offices and common areas. This role operates within Buildings and Grounds and reports to the Custodial Superintendent, supporting events and routine custodial needs.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to pass a physical exam, and the strength to lift up to 50 lb. Evening shifts and open lifts to up to 30 feet may be involved.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Willingness to learn procedures and follow instructions.
• Ability to pass a physical examination.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lb.
• Able to operate open lifts to heights.
• Able to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license within six months.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, washrooms, and other areas.
• Assist in moving and setting up equipment and furniture for events.
• Clear sidewalks, snow and perform seasonal custodian care.
• Operate and maintain custodial equipment safely per standards.
• Report damage or hazards to Lead Custodian.
• Attend required trainings.
• Support college goals and collaborate with colleagues.
