Ball State University Dining seeks a part-time Cashier to join the Tom John Food Shop on campus. Up to 30 hours per week with evening hours and weekends as shown.

You will count cash, balance at shift end, and ensure accuracy in daily reports while maintaining clean, orderly cashier area and adhering to university policies.

Qualifications

• Requires successful completion of Cashier Training Class.
• Must be able to read and comprehend policies and procedures for safety and university operations.
• Must communicate effectively in English, both written and oral.
• Must be able to perform basic math and use calculators accurately.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Count, wrap, and verify money with high accuracy.
• Open on time and maintain published meal service hours.
• Operate cash terminals and log transactions accurately.
• Prepare a daily cash-out form detailing sales, overages, and shortages.
• Interact with customers cheerfully and resolve questions with supervisor input.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization at cashier station and surrounding areas.
• Enforce dining room rules and safety procedures.
