Job summary

Ball State University Dining is seeking a part-time Food Service Custodian to join the Ball State campus team. The role supports cleaning and sanitation across food service areas and equipment, with a schedule that includes multiple shifts.

Up to 32 hours per week, with emphasis on safety and strong customer service on campus. Candidates must meet physical requirements, be 18+, and have at least one year of work experience.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and comprehend policies and procedures for safety and operations.
• Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
• Must be able to work in a physical, fast-paced environment.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• One year of work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine heavy labor duties in a food service area.
• Sweep, mop and scrub floors and wash walls/ceilings.
• Clean food service areas and equipment; maintain cleanliness.
• Change light bulbs and restrooms; restock supplies as needed.
• Dispose of trash and maintain waste areas.
• Train and direct student personnel as assigned.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards.
