The Engineering Technology Department is seeking a federal aid recipient for student employment. The Engineering Lab Assistant is a position to aid the Lab Technician with tasks supporting the setup of teaching aids and systems for the professors of the ENGT dept. The Lab Assistant will follow the direction of the Engineering Technology Department Lab Technician. They will be required to carry out a variety of tasks including cleaning, organizing, inventorying, equipment repair, etc. This position will require the lab assistant to perform manual labor tasks under the supervision of the Technician. Eye and hand protection will be provided. The lab assistant should wear appropriate clothing to support their work. They should not wear shorts, sweatpants, loose-fitting shirts or sandals.
The ENGT Lab Assistant must have good interpersonal skills, have a willingness to learn the use of various hand tools, equipment, software utilized in specific labs, follow all established workplace safety regulations, be flexible and have a positive attitude. Punctuality is required. Students with Engineering Technology/Applied Science and Technology/Computer Science/Computer Information Systems background are preferred.
Shift Information: This is a part-time, non-benefited student only position with an hourly rate of $15.00. Days and hours vary.
