Job summary

Omaha Public Schools Belle Ryan Elementary in Omaha, Nebraska is hiring a part-time Backup Manager. The role starts immediately with a schedule of 5 hours per day, 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday when school is in session. Must be available 7:00 a.m.

to 2:30 p.m. as needed if the manager is absent. The position reports to the Executive Director of Nutrition Services and requires prior manager training, basic math, and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Manager Training completed within the previous school year, scoring 80% or above required.
• Ability to apply basic arithmetic calculations using money, weights, volume and distance.
• Prior food service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of safe food handling and HACCP procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation, service, and storage of food.
• Lead staff as Backup Manager and assist with daily operations.
• Complete required reports and train staff within 10 weeks.
• Ensure food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation across the kitchen.
• Provide excellent customer service to students and staff.
