Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a part-time janitorial associate in Spearfish, South Dakota. The role involves routine building cleaning, front-door monitoring during business hours, and assisting customers.

This position offers up to 29 hours per week at $12.00 per hour with emphasis on safety, reliability, and teamwork. High school diploma and basic cleaning experience preferred; background checks required.

Qualifications

• Flexible and able to work on multiple tasks.
• Basic computer skills with ability to access payroll and timekeeping via a web-based system.
• Knowledge of cleaning supplies and their use.
• Knowledge of standard hand tools and equipment.
• Good communication skills both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize bathrooms.
• Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors, empty/clean all wastebaskets.
• Replace light bulbs.
• Strip, clean, buff, and apply sealer to floors.
• Wash windows inside and out.
• Perform routine maintenance of housekeeping equipment and keep janitorial closet tidy.
• Remove snow and other debris from around the perimeter of the building.
• Light painting and other maintenance, as needed.
• Greet customers as they enter and exit the store.
• Observe customers while shopping to help deter potential theft.
• All other duties as assigned.
