Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a part-time housekeeping associate in Spearfish, SD. The role offers up to 29 hours per week with a pay rate of 12.00 per hour. You will perform routine cleaning, supervise the store front, and assist customers during business hours.

Responsibilities include cleaning bathrooms, floors, windows, and equipment, greeting customers, and helping deter theft. Background checks are required. High school diploma and 6 months related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent diploma, and 6 months or more experience in a related field.
• Flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
• Basic computer skills with ability to access payroll, timekeeping and personal data via a web-based system.
• Knowledge of cleaning supplies and their use.
• Knowledge of standard hand tools and equipment.
• Good communication skills both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize bathrooms.
• Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors, empty/clean all wastebaskets.
• Replace light bulbs.
• Strip, clean, buff, and apply sealer to floors.
• Wash windows inside and out.
• Perform routine maintenance of housekeeping equipment and keep janitorial closet in a tidy and clean manner.
• Remove snow and other debris from around the perimeter of the building.
• Light painting and other maintenance, as needed.
• Greet customers as they enter and exit the store.
• Observe customers while shopping to help deter potential theft.
• All other duties as assigned.
