Job summary

Unitek Learning is seeking a part-time nursing instructor to teach and supervise obstetrics nursing students on campus in California. The role emphasizes classroom and clinical instruction, curriculum development, and student assessment.

You will mentor new faculty, apply adult-learning principles, and ensure clinical assignments meet learning objectives. A valid RN license and a Master of Nursing or higher are required, with at least four years of direct patient care.

Qualifications

• Valid RN license issued by the State Board of Nursing.
• Master of Nursing or higher with coursework in nursing/education/administration (OB, Pediatrics, Psychiatry or Medical-Surgical).
• At least four years of direct patient care as an RN.
• Clinical experience within the last five years (clinical teaching counts).
• Expertise in OB-Gyn, Psychiatry, Geriatrics, Med/Surg, or Pediatrics.

Responsibilities

• Teach and supervise obstetrics nursing in classroom and clinical settings.
• Collaborate to develop, administer, and grade course materials and examinations.
• Evaluate student performance and maintain attendance, grades, and clinical skill records.
• Participate in curriculum development, quality improvement initiatives, and program assessment.
• Orient and mentor new faculty in theory and clinical instruction.
• Utilize adult learning principles and integrate technology in teaching methods.
• Maintain current knowledge of obstetric nursing practices and safety regulations.
• Participate in faculty meetings, committee activities, and student advising.
• Ensure clinical assignments meet learning objectives and facility requirements.
• Submit required reports to the program director in a timely manner.
• Maintain professional development and contribute to the nursing program's mission.
