Job summary

Unitek EMT in Visalia, CA, seeks a BSN Nursing Instructor to provide clinical site education for students in collaboration with Kaweah Health. The role requires pediatric specialty experience and involves labs and patient-care teaching across flexible rotations.

The instructor will assess student performance, maintain records, and collaborate with the Academic Site Director. A Master’s in nursing or related field is preferred, with CA BRN eligibility for assignment.

Qualifications

• CA BRN license is required and unencumbered.
• Eligible for CA BRN Instructor approval in Medical-Surgical, OB, Pediatrics, Mental Health, Community Health, or Geriatrics.
• Master’s degree with coursework in nursing, education, or administration for faculty assignment.
• BSN and enrollment in a Master’s program may be considered for Clinical Teaching Assistant.
• Minimum four years of RN direct patient care experience, with one year in the last five years.
• One-year teaching experience in nursing or related course preferred.
• Expertise in Mental Health, Medical-Surgical, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, L&D, Community Health, or Critical Care.

Responsibilities

• Provide education in skills lab and clinical settings per curriculum and faculty expertise.
• Apply adult learning principles in instruction and assessment.
• Plan and supervise student clinical experiences in assigned facilities.
• Evaluate student performance against clinical learning outcomes per policies.
• Give timely feedback after observations of clinical performance.
• Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and skill check-offs.
• Ensure clinical assignments meet student and facility needs.
• Observe, instruct, and evaluate students using best methods.
• Pursue ongoing quality improvement in instruction and stay current with safety regulations.
• Submit required program reports to Academic Site Director in a timely manner.
• Participate in committees supporting the nursing program and attend meetings.
• Provide accessible student communication channels and office hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
