Job summary

Express Employment is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day accounting functions for our small business. This part-time, in-person role covers all accounting tasks, accuracy in financial records, payables and receivables, budgeting, and financial reports using Sage.

Qualifications

• Experience with small business bookkeeping
• Proficiency with Sage accounting software
• Solid understanding of cost accounting
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Trustworthy with confidential information
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable: enter/vendor bills, code, schedule payments
• Process accounts receivable: generate invoices, track balances
• Enter and reconcile daily financial transactions in Sage
• Enter sales and track payments
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly
• Maintain and monitor the company budget and flag variances
• Prepare regular financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
• Maintain organized financial records for tax/audit purposes
• Support payroll data entry with outside provider
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing and communicate with CPA
