The position requires Spanish/English fluency and 2+ years in optical or medical assisting. Schedule is 2–3 days per week with mileage reimbursement and travel pay, providing meaningful patient impact without nights or weekends.

Qualifications

• Bi-lingual proficiency in Spanish and English required.
• 2+ years as an Optician or Optometric Technician preferred.
• Medical assisting experience is a plus.
• Geriatric or senior care experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of OSHA and infection control standards.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license required.
• Able to lift and transport equipment (typically 25–50 lbs.).
• Must pass a federal background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist the optometrist with patient intake, visual screenings, and basic diagnostic testing.
• Communicate clearly with patients in Spanish/English.
• Assist with eyewear selection, adjustments, fittings, and basic repairs.
• Set up, break down, and maintain portable optometry equipment.
• Follow sterilization, safety, and infection control protocols.
• Complete basic documentation, charting, and administrative tasks.
• Represent CMC with professionalism, compassion, and reliability.
