Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking substitute teachers who demonstrate excellence in Biblical knowledge and teaching abilities. The ideal candidate is an active church participant with strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a caring, perceptive approach to working with students.

This role involves completing substitute teacher training, delivering LifeWise lessons, maintaining a safe and organized classroom, and collaborating with teachers and volunteers.

Qualifications

• A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active participation in a local church whose doctrine aligns with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.

Responsibilities

• Complete substitute teacher training.
• Teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis.
• Implement the LifeWise curriculum provided by the teacher.
• Maintain a safe, organized and stimulating classroom environment following LifeWise policies and procedures.
• Follow the program's student discipline policy.
• Take attendance in each class and provide attendance records to the teacher.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and well-ordered classroom; know emergency procedures.
• Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community; communicate lesson plans with volunteers before class and assign duties; communicate with the teacher.
