Job summary

LHH in Carlsbad, CA is seeking a part-time HR Benefits Specialist to administer benefits programs, handle enrollments and changes, and support employee questions onsite.

This 20-30 hour per week contract (6-8 months with potential extension) emphasizes open enrollment, broker/vendor coordination, billing accuracy, and a positive employee experience. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in HR or benefits administration and experience with UKG or a similar HRIS.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HR or Benefits Administration experience.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Experience with UKG or similar HRIS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and ongoing maintenance.
• Support annual open enrollment processes and communicate benefit updates to employees.
• Partner with benefits brokers and vendors to ensure smooth administration of benefit plans.
• Serve as a resource for employee questions regarding benefits, leaves, and HR-related inquiries.
• Review benefit invoices and billing calculations to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain and update employee benefit records within HR systems.
• Assist with Leave of Absence administration and coordinate with third-party leave administrators.
• Support workers' compensation processes as needed.
• Assist with employee wellness initiatives, recognition programs, and company events.
• Help foster a positive employee experience and workplace culture.
• Provide general HR support and assist with various employee-related programs and projects.
