Job summary

Baystate Health in Palmer, MA is seeking a Part-time Behavioral Resource Technician to provide one-to-one patient observation and care during 7pm-7:30am shifts.Responsibilities include safety monitoring, reporting changes to the nurse, and maintaining a compassionate, professional environment for patients and families.

Prior behavioral health exposure is preferred; CPR/BLS is required with CPI training within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of relevant patient care experience required.
• 2 years' experience working with behavioral health patients preferred.
• CPR through American Heart Association BLS Provider required; CPI training within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety observation of the patient or patients assigned.
• Maintain a safe environment and interact with patient, family, and staff professionally.
• Provide patient care as assigned (bathing, feeding, toileting, ambulating, turning).
• Report changes in patient condition or behavior to the nurse immediately; document every 15 minutes during shift.
• Demonstrate competency for one-to-one observation per suicidality policy; stay awake and alert during observation.
