Job summary

BEAM seeks a Behavioral Aide to provide direct support to students with special needs at Hacienda Heights/La Puente, CA. This part-time, on-site role runs during school hours, Monday through Friday, with a compensation range of $20–$25 per hour.

The aide will assist with instructional activities, maintain a structured environment, and support staff in classrooms, labs, and learning centers. Prior relevant experience is desired.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and anticipate the needs of children.
• Operate classroom technology equipment.
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
• Show competence and assist with academic skills, e.g. reading and math.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to students with special needs.
• Assist with preparing instructional activities and materials.
• Assist school staff with in-class activities.
• Keep classroom organized and maintain a clean restroom/change area.
• Support with a positive learning atmosphere and behavior management techniques.
• Assist with classroom technology, adaptive devices, and equipment.
• Assist with toileting, diapering, dressing, and hygiene.
• Participate in program planning meetings as requested by staff.
• Work with students individually or in groups as directed by staff.
