Job summary

Behavioral Emotional and Academic Mentoring LLC seeks a part-time Behavioral Aide to provide direct support to students with special needs in El Monte, CA. Work hours are Monday through Friday during school hours, on-site only. Compensation ranges from $20 to $25 per hour.

This role involves assisting district staff with instructional activities, classroom setup, behavior management, and supervision, with opportunities for professional growth and RBT training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (or AA degree / 48 college units) or paraeducator exam
• Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
• Experience with groups of youth is desirable

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to students with special needs
• Assist in school district activities and instructional training materials
• Maintain organized classroom environment and equipment
• Assist with classroom technology and adaptive devices as directed
• Support social skills development and behavior management
• Monitor safety and assist with emergencies when needed
• Work with students individually, in groups, or centers as planned by staff
• Participate in program planning meetings and carry out duties as assigned
