Job summary

After-School All-Stars seeks a proactive Before School Program Leader for East LA. This part-time role supports academic, cultural and recreational enrichment for K-12 students under the supervision of the Program Coordinator.

You will assist in planning activities, maintain a 20:1 ratio, communicate with families and school staff, and ensure a safe, engaging environment before school hours (6:30 AM – 8:00 AM). Some evenings or weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience with students in K-12 settings (recreational/educational).
• Ability to work with school staff, parents and community leaders.
• Must be 18+ and have HS diploma or GED; or higher education completed.
• Ability to communicate effectively and respond to incidents.
• Fluency in a language other than English is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in planning and implementing the daily after-school program.
• Maintain a 20:1 student ratio using recruitment and retention strategies.
• Build positive relationships with youth, guardians and school staff.
• Prepare supplies and materials for enrichment activities and monitor safety.
• Supervise students and ensure a safe environment; attend staff meetings and PD.
