YMCA of the Roses is seeking a Before & After School Teacher for Stewartstown Elementary School to provide a safe, engaging environment where children grow socially, emotionally, and academically. You will plan activities, supervise students, and partner with families to support each child’s development.

Schedule is Monday–Friday with morning 6:30 AM–9:00 AM and afternoon 3:00 PM–6:00 PM. This part-time role offers competitive pay ($15.00–$20.00 per hour) and access to YMCA facilities and

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Human Services, or a related field.
• One to three years of experience with children in an educational or youth development setting.
• Current Mandated Reporter Certification required.
• Pediatric First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications required or ability to obtain.
• Pennsylvania Teaching Certification required for Pre-K Counts programs.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to create engaging learning experiences that support diverse developmental needs.

Responsabilités

• Plan, prepare, and implement age-appropriate curriculum and engaging activities that support child development.
• Create a structured, positive learning environment that encourages participation, creativity, and social growth.
• Supervise children and utilize effective behavior guidance techniques to promote a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
• Conduct observations and assessments as required and maintain accurate program documentation.
• Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding participant progress, program activities, and individual needs.
• Participate in parent conferences and family engagement opportunities.
• Follow all YMCA health, safety, emergency response, and infection-control procedures.
• Report concerns and fulfill all responsibilities related to Pennsylvania Child Protective Services Law (CPSL) requirements.
• Ensure program spaces remain organized, welcoming, and ready for daily activities.
