Job summary

YMCA of the Roses is seeking a Before & After School Teacher (Part-Time) to provide a safe, engaging environment at Wallace Elementary, Roundtown Elementary, or Stony Brook Elementary. The role involves implementing age-appropriate curriculum before and after school.

You’ll work Monday–Friday, 6:15 AM–8:45 AM and 3:15 PM–5:30 PM, with early dismissal variations. Hourly pay is $15.00–$19.00, with opportunities to support youth development and family partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• 1–3 years of documented experience with children.
• Pediatric First Aid, CPR, and AED certification or ability to obtain.
• Mandated Reporter Certification or ability to obtain.
• PA State Police Clearance, Child Abuse Clearance, NSOR, and FBI Fingerprint Clearance required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and basic technology tools.

• Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate curriculum and enrichment activities.
• Create a positive, inclusive environment where children feel safe and supported.
• Supervise participants and maintain program safety through active engagement and classroom management.
• Observe and assess children's development to guide meaningful learning experiences.
• Utilize positive behavior guidance strategies to support social and emotional growth.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, school staff, and YMCA team members.
• Maintain attendance records, program documentation, and required reports.
• Follow YMCA health, safety, infection-control, and emergency procedures at all times.
• Assist with daily setup, organization, and cleanup of program spaces.

Schedule
