Job summary

Community YMCA in Lansdowne, PA is seeking energetic OST staff for our school year program. This part-time role supports before- and aftercare, with shifts including the morning care 7:30–8:30am and after care 2:45–6:00pm.

Responsibilities include implementing daily activities, ensuring safety, and maintaining documentation, while promoting YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Requirements include relevant education and a minimum of 3 years working with children.

Qualifications

• Preferred CDA or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Minimum 3 years (2500 hours) of experience working with children.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Commitment to ongoing quality program improvements.
• CPR/AED and Pediatric First Aid certifications within 15 days of hire.
• Training requirements to meet Keystone STARS and DHS timelines.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups in the community.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and assess daily operations of the child care classroom.
• Create a safe, inclusive environment aligned with YMCA policies.
• Engage children with activities supporting emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development.
• Maintain attendance, assessments, and monthly/annual reports; submit timely.
• Attend staff meetings and family events; support center director as needed.
