Job summary

The 106 Jefferson Hotel in Huntsville, Alabama is seeking a part-time Banquet Server to ensure guests have a great dining experience during functions. You will be expected to understand BEOs, maintain a polished service, and support the Banquet team in setup and serving of meals.

Minimum experience includes high school education and 3–6 months in food/beverage service; TIPs certification is required, and English proficiency is essential. Daily pay and staff discounts are available.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Three to six months experience in a food/beverage services environment or establishment.
• Must be TIPs certified.
• Must have vision ability to clearly see detailed guest checks and instructions, even in dim lighting.
• Must have manual coordination to punch buttons and carry trays.

Responsibilities

• Check server’s and house person’s BEOs to ensure information is accurate.
• Review BEOs at the start of each shift to ensure room is set as contracted.
• Know the menu for each function and explain major ingredients and prep methods.
• Communicate with Banquet Captain/Lead Server for special needs.
• Set tables, glassware, flatware and silverware per dining rules and specs.
• Greet and serve guests following policies for service of food and beverages.
• Keep station neat and clean while servicing guests per procedures.
• Maintain a proper dining experience, delivering items and refilling utensils.
• Use in-room clearing and aisle tray/buffet setup or breakdown as needed.
• Assist Lead Banquet Server in setting up/breaking down buffets and stations.
• Follow all guest check and money-handling procedures for service.
• Complete assigned side work.
