Job summary

Sinclair Community College seeks part-time adjunct faculty to teach face-to-face courses at Stebbins High School in Dayton, OH, with an immediate start. Classes run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:35 to 2:10 PM.

Starting pay is $1,046 per credit hour assigned to teach. Position is open only to residents of Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky, or those able to work in these states, due to compliance requirements at Sinclair.

Qualifications

• Must have an associate degree or higher; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience teaching is preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a culturally diverse college environment.
• Demonstrated skills using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
• Prepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assigned sections per policy.
• Employ appropriate teaching strategies and use instructional technology when appropriate.
• Modify instructional methods to meet diverse student needs.
• Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success.
• Evaluate and return student work promptly to promote learning.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress.
• Submit final grade rosters by deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Cannot exceed a maximum of 12 credit hours per semester.
• Other duties as assigned.
