Job Description:
Summary:
The Audio Visual Technician assists with the setup and operation ofaudiovisual equipment for classes, conferences, and special events.The Technician also helps the office maintain staff presence byanswering the AV phone line and assisting with AV scheduling.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with classroom and event support by connecting customersdevices to the classroom AV systems and/or setting up PA systems inevent spaces. Ensure that audio and display settings of connecteddevices are properly selected.
- Record AV requests received via phone and email into the officedatabase utilizing the software application; Airtable. Ensure thatdetails pertinent to the customer’s request are properlyannotated.
- Assist staff and faculty with lecture capture employing variousvideoconferencing applications. Ensure that audio and displaysettings of connected devices are properly selected.
- Test Classroom AV systems in order isolate malfunctioningcomponents for further troubleshooting or replacement by the SpringValley Senior Technician. Replace defective or malfunctioningcables.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- Part-time.
- 27 hours per week.
Salary Range:
- $18.40 - $20.00 per hour.
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 - 3 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent customer service, organization, communication, andproblem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of video recording techniques, and a basicunderstanding of signal flow for both audio and videosignals.
- Working knowledge of Mac and PC computers. Working knowledge ofvideoconferencing applications; primarily Zoom.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize andmultitask.
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Previous AV experience or a background in audio technology orvisual media.
- Familiarity with Mac and PC computers, Blu-Ray players,projection systems, PA systems, video cameras, digital audiorecorders, as well as basic and advanced control systems.
