Petco is seeking a part-time Associate Veterinarian for our Vetco Total Care hospital in South Salem, OR. You will provide comprehensive medical care, perform surgeries and dental procedures, and lead in delivering high-quality patient and client experiences.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the hospital team, adherence to veterinary SOPs, and ongoing education to advance patient care within a supportive Petco environment.

Qualifications

• DVM degree or equivalent from AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
• Active licensure in the state or ability to obtain by start date.
• Current DEA license.
• Current Controlled Substance License, if applicable.
• USDA Category I Accreditation or completion within two months of hire date.
• Comfortable performing anesthesia and routine surgeries (canine/feline).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate and professional demeanor.
• Telephone and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care through exams, diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care.
• Perform routine and complex surgeries including spays/neuters and mass removals.
• Conduct dental examinations and procedures including radiographs and extractions.
• Develop treatment plans and coordinate day hospitalization and overnight care as needed.
• Participate in rounds, share knowledge with staff, and support hospital teamwork.
