Qualifications

• DVM degree from AVMA-accredited school.
• Active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the state of practice.
• Current DEA license.
• Current Controlled Substance License.
• USDA Category I Accreditation or equivalent.
• Comfort with anesthesia and routine surgeries.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate, empathetic and professional demeanor.
• Good telephone and computer skills.
• Team player willing to learn new techniques and contribute to the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent patient care with physical exams, diagnoses, and preventive care.
• Develop complete problem lists and differential diagnoses for each patient.
• Document observations, exams, diagnostics, treatments, and diagnoses in medical records.
• Perform spays/neuters, abdominal exploratories, and mass removals.
• Conduct routine and complex dental procedures and radiographs.
• Develop treatment plans for day hospitalization and coordinate with referral hospitals when needed.
• Participate in rounds and share knowledge to improve care across staff.
• Contribute to a cohesive, well-trained hospital team and positive patient outcomes.
