Job summary

Child Development Schools is seeking an Assistant Teacher to help create a classroom filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. You will support young learners alongside the Master Teacher, promoting curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth.

You will participate in hands-on activities, storytelling, meals, transitions, and outdoor time while building strong relationships with families and maintaining attendance and daily reports.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Genuine care for children and a commitment to their safety and well-being.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with families.
• Physical ability to meet the demands of working with young children.

Responsibilities

Your role

As an Assistant Teacher at Child Development Schools, you will help create a classroom filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. Working alongside your Master Teacher, you will support young learners through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth. From hands-on activities and storytelling to everyday learning moments, you will help shape a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore the world around them.

What your day looks like:

• Support the Master Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for the classroom
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Master Teacher
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports

Pay and benefits

Pay: $11.00-$14.00 per hour, based on experience and education.

A degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education and prior experience in a licensed childcare center are a plus, but not required. We hire for character and train for skill.
