Job summary

Child Development Schools in Oklahoma City seeks an Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher and help create a warm, engaging classroom. You will participate in hands-on activities, storytelling, and daily routines that foster curiosity, kindness, and growth.

You will document progress, communicate with families, and help maintain a clean, organized classroom that meets licensing requirements. A high school diploma or GED is required; coursework in Early Childhood Education is a plus.

Your role

As an Assistant Teacher at Child Development Schools, you will help create a classroom filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. Working alongside your Lead Teacher, you will support young learners through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth. From hands-on activities and storytelling to everyday learning moments, you will help shape a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore the world around them.

What your day looks like:

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for the classroom
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports

Pay and benefits

Pay: $11.00-$14.00 per hour, based on experience and education.
