Job summary

Child Development Schools is seeking an Assistant Teacher to join our team. You will support the Lead Teacher by delivering age-appropriate activities, encouraging curiosity, and helping create a warm, safe classroom where children feel valued and excited to learn.

In Conway, AR, you will help maintain a clean, organized space, assist with attendance and daily reports, engage with children during meals and transitions, and build positive relationships with families through regular communication.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old and able to pass a background check.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to care for children and maintain safety.
• Strong communication and ability to build relationships with families.
• A degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education is a plus.

Responsibilities

Your role

As an Assistant Teacher at Child Development Schools, you will help create a classroom filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. Working alongside your Lead Teacher, you will support young learners through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth. From hands-on activities and storytelling to everyday learning moments, you will help shape a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore the world around them.

What your day looks like:

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for the classroom
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports

Pay and benefits

Pay: $11.00-$12.75 per hour, based on experience and education.

Requirements
