Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our Morehead, KY location. The role involves assisting with day-to-day functions, helping customers, organizing merchandise, and supervising staff.

The position emphasizes opening/closing procedures, expense control, and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment. Part-time hours and a focus on teamwork and professional conduct are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and interpret directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication and customer service skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and information requests.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Create a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including restrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
