Job summary

Dollar Tree in Dry Ridge, KY is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, assist customers, and lead team development. You will help with merchandising, opening/closing procedures, and ensuring promotions remain effective.

The ideal candidate has strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills, with store management experience preferred and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics)
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets including store cash
• Adhere to policies and ensure store associates follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, trash
• Other duties as assigned
