Job summary

Family Dollar in Mississippi is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, supervise and develop team members, and ensure smooth day-to-day activities with a strong focus on customer service.

You will handle opening/closing procedures, inventory, payroll and scheduling records, loss prevention, and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming sales floor. This is a part-time, on-site role with opportunities to grow. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked, clean sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; supervise and train Store Associates as needed.
• Create a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
