Job summary

Family Dollar in Greenwood, MS is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily activities, merchandising, and staff training, while ensuring policy compliance and safe, welcoming customer interactions.

The role involves opening/closing duties, payroll and scheduling tasks, and loss prevention support in a fast-paced retail setting. Part-time, on-site position with growth potential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred/required.
• Store management experience in retail or grocery environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll and scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all assets, including cash.
• Follow policies, safety guidelines, and ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful store environment.
