Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to assist with store operations, customer service and team development in our Middlesex, New Jersey location. You will help with day-to-day functions, open and close the store, and support staff to ensure a clean, organized sales floor and stockroom.

You will train and supervise Store Associates, uphold safety policies, protect assets, and respond to customer inquiries with professionalism.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits, and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized on sales floor and in stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies; ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
