Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Owings Mills, MD to support store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with day-to-day store activities, train associates, maintain displays, and ensure safety and policy compliance while delivering a positive shopping experience.

Part-time role with opportunities to contribute across merchandising, scheduling, and loss prevention in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and handle walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, records, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked store and organized stockroom.
• Protect store assets including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff compliance.
• Help store manager supervise, train, and develop store associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, bathrooms, floors; manage trash and neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
