Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to maintain a high‑performing store environment in Owings Mills, MD.

You will assist with day‑to‑day activities, manage merchandising and staff, and ensure safety and compliance. This full‑time position offers growth opportunities and a focus on delivering great customer experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping including payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment with professional, friendly interactions.
• Keep store clean, restock bathrooms, sweep and mop floors, take out trash, and keep areas neat and presentable.
• Other duties as assigned.
