Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run store operations, deliver excellent customer service, and develop the team. You will support opening/closing, merchandising, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention to keep the store safe and inviting.

The role emphasizes supervising and training Store Associates, maintaining a well-stocked sales floor, and upholding company standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily store operations and activities.
• Provide excellent customer service and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, and cash handling), and loss prevention.
• Maintain store areas to company standards, including a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and colleagues.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, and taking out the trash.
