Job summary

Family Dollar in Abilene, Texas is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, deliver outstanding customer service, and help develop the store team. You will assist with day-to-day activities, organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom, and ensure promotional displays stay fresh and appealing.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and a proven ability to work in a fast-paced, team‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and can read directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication and customer service skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor as needed and ensure the seasonal areas of the store are maintained
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a neat, well-stocked store and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Ensure adherence to policies and safety guidelines.
