Job summary

Family Dollar in Jonesboro is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help manage daily store operations, assist customers, and develop the store team. You will organize merchandise flow, maintain displays, and perform opening/closing procedures while ensuring policy compliance and safety.

The role supports payroll, scheduling, and cash handling, with emphasis on customer service, asset protection, and a positive, respectful store environment. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; able to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Team-oriented, high-energy environment suitability.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized; protect assets including cash.
• Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment; supervise interactions with customers and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
