Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Peoria, IL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will supervise associates, assist with merchandise handling, loss prevention, and ensure compliance with company policies while maintaining a safe, friendly environment.

This role is part-time and requires the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, strong communication, and the ability to work in a high-energy team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, organized store and stockroom per company standards.
• Protect store assets including cash and security.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates under Store Manager supervision.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness of the store including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
