Job summary

Dollar Tree in Houston, TX seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support daily operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist in merchandising, stocking, and executing store directives while maintaining a clean, safe retail environment.

The role involves supervising associates, opening/closing procedures, and ensuring excellent service in a fast-paced setting. Part-time hours and a flexible schedule are typical.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical activity including walking, standing, bending, and climbing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures, displays, and orderly stockrooms.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll and scheduling records, and cash deposits.
• Lead and develop Store Associates and ensure a safe, respectful environment.
• Keep the store clean and presentable, including restrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
