Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our Michigan location. You will assist with day-to-day activities, supervise store associates, and help ensure a positive shopping environment.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, merchandise organization, and adherence to company policies. The role emphasizes strong communication, teamwork, and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store activities and store functions.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Assist in organizing merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain store fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll records, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect store assets, including cash.
• Enforce company policies and safety guidelines.
• Help Stores Manager supervise, train, and develop store associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for staff and customers.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
