Job summary

Dollar Tree in Lansing, Michigan is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store functions, help organize merchandise, and help supervise and train Store Associates to maintain high standards.

This part-time position requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail or similar environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent standing, walking, and lifting
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns
• Help organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and store communications
• Maintain store fixtures and promotional displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and loss prevention
• Keep store areas clean and well-stocked, including stockroom and bathrooms
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash
• Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and policies
• Support Store Manager in training Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Other duties as assigned
