Job summary

Dollar Tree in Wyoming, MI is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with daily activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and participate in opening/closing procedures.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills, with a focus on maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming store environment for customers and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Lift up to 55 lbs and perform typical store duties including walking and standing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational and communication skills required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and store communications.
• Maintain storefront fixtures and displays for promo effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, payroll records and cash deposits.
• Maintain neat, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom per company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Ensure policies, safety guidelines, and procedures are followed.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a safe, respectful environment with customers and teams.
• Keep the store clean including bathrooms, floors, trash and neat presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
