Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. in Detroit is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run store operations, support customer service, and develop team members daily.

You will assist with opening and closing duties, oversee merchandise flow, and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming shopping environment while maintaining company standards and financial controls. You will collaborate with leadership to implement promotions, monitor inventory, and participate in loss prevention efforts to protect assets.

Qualifications

• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to read and interpret operational directives.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform extensive walking, standing, and repetitive movements.
• Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Compliant with safety and security procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store operations and duties.
• Help customers with questions and maintain a positive, approachable service.
• Support merchandise transfers from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Assist in ordering merchandise and loss prevention activities.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and organized sales floor and stockroom.
• Support Store Manager in training and developing associates.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment for customers and staff.
