Job summary

Family Dollar in Powell, OH is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandising, open/close procedures, and enforcing store policies while helping lead Store Associates.

The role requires strong communication and organizational skills with a focus on customer satisfaction in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform multiple physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Enforce policies and safety guidelines among associates.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
