Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, and ensure merchandise is organized and stocked for a strong store presentation.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and problem solving. You will help supervise and train store associates while maintaining a safe, friendly shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for storefront effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling/cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a stocked, neat sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect store assets, including cash, and ensure security procedures.
• Adhere to policies, safety guidelines, and supervise/train store associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, bathrooms, floors, and general presentation.
