Family Dollar in Danville, VA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will supervise, train, and empower Store Associates while ensuring a positive shopping experience and adherence to company policies.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, store management experience preferred, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs in a fast-paced environment. This is a part-time position with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is recommended.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and handle frequent walking, standing, stooping, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsabilités

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and related communications for store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help store manager supervise, train, and develop store associates.
• Maintain a safe, respectful environment with professional interactions with customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean and presentable, including restrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
